This site sets no cookies
No cookies of any kind are set by Sword Arcade - not for analytics, not for preferences, not for anything. You will not see a cookie banner here because there is nothing to consent to.
No third-party scripts are loaded either, which means no other party is in a position to set one when you visit.
Local storage, and why it is different
The site stores your scores, favourites, recently played list and sound preference in your browser's local storage.
The important technical difference is that local storage is never attached to network requests. A cookie is sent to the server with every request to the site; local storage is not sent anywhere at all, ever. It is readable only by JavaScript running on this domain, in your browser, on your device.
That means the data genuinely cannot reach us, which is a stronger guarantee than a promise not to look at it.
What is stored
Per-game personal bests and the metrics each game measures; your favourites list; up to 24 recently played entries with timestamps; local play counts used only for the 'your most played' section; and whether sound is enabled.
Nothing that identifies you, and nothing about which pages you read.
Managing it
The privacy policy page includes a button that removes every key this site has created and reports how many were removed.
You can also clear site data for this domain in your browser's settings, which achieves the same thing. Private browsing windows generally discard it automatically when the window closes.
Blocking site data entirely is also fine. Every game continues to work; it simply does not remember anything between visits.
If advertising is introduced
The site reserves labelled space for advertising but has no advertising network connected and no ad code on any page.
If one is connected in future, that provider would be able to set its own cookies and collect data under its own policy, which we would not control. This page and the privacy policy would both be updated to name the provider and link to its policy before any such code went live, and a consent mechanism would be added where one is required.
